FIRST LOOK AT THE GRENADIER 4 X 4

INEOS Automotive has revealed the exterior design of the Grenadier, its forthcoming, no-nonsense 4x4 vehicle for the world, another step on the road towards start of production.

It does look the part, a durable and reliable 4 x 4. Production was planned for a site in South Wales, making it an attractive British made vehicle. That plan now seems in doubt as Ineos are considering a site in France, now owned by Mercedes.

Part of the production is planned to be in Portugal. Split sites in any production process are fraught - will Ineos be able to deal with that problem ?

Ineos Group Chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s ambitions for a world beater 4 x 4 are laudable. Ineos has a global payroll of 23,000 with a variety of manufacturing plants.

Its early days yet but will be interesting to see how the project develops especially now Land Rover have launched their new version of the Defender.
