BRITSH MOTOR MUSEUM

The British Motor Museum is to host a brand new online exhibition to celebrate one of Britain’s best-selling small cars - entitled “Metro at 40”. For the first time the Museum will be hosting the exhibition online as part of its drive to have more online and accessible insights into their collection. 2020 marks the 40th anniversary of the Austin Metro and 30th anniversary of the Rover Metro.

The online exhibition is packed with all things Metro. Plus photos which have been submitted to the Museum by Metro owners. Anyone that would like to send in their own Metro musings for the ‘Metro & Me’ feature can email their stories and images to museum@britishmotormuseum.co.uk.

The Museum is now reverting to Friday to Monday opening until October half-term (24 October - 1 November), when it will be open daily, subject to any changes in government advice. It will then return to Friday to Monday opening throughout November & December until 20 December when it will close for Christmas, reopening on 2 January 2021. NATIONAL MOTOR MUSEUM

The National Motor Museum Trust has appointed eight new trustees to help shape its future. Tthe new trustees are offering their expertise and enthusiasm to assist in shaping the future strategy for the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu and its world-famous collection of more than 250 vehicles, telling the story of motoring in Britain.

The new trustees are Lord Beaverbrook, Jeremy Boadle, Tom Callow, Andy Goss, Jonathan Hewett, Colin McKenzie, Keira Sewell, and Andrew Thomas. Preparing for the next 50 years, they will help ensure that the Trust has a clear vision for the future, telling different stories from different voices by striving to engage and inspire people with the story of motoring .For further information about the National Motor Museum, its collections, research service and education programme visit www.nationalmotormuseum.org.uk.
