Announced in May 2014 that production of the Hindustan Ambassador is to cease. It is a car manufactured in India since 1958. Based on the Morris Oxford model, which was made in Cowley, Oxford, it has long been a favourite in India, especially as a taxi. Top Gear named it the world’s best taxi in 2013.
